There was a man in the Iron Mask. He was securely locked and died in prison. That is all we know for sure.

It is a mystery. Louis XIV is necessary to have this man locked out of sight. All well and good - but what is more permanently to keep a man from the view that the grave? And yet were not killed Luis. Whatever your reason for this, not because he was worried - that's would be a different matter

The rest is pure speculation - but it seems the only motivation for the actions of Louis to hold the water is that it is actually a blood relationship. Of course, is never sure.

Edit - More Details. Not much, and that's the point. Therefore, the wide range of rumors orgrew around him.

He won the first of a new prison in 1669 and in prisons (including the Bastille and the Chateau d'If) until his death in 1703. A special cell was for him in all these places built, with several doors that can be held is not in contact with other prisoners to the extent possible. The Iron Mask itself is a myth, actually wore a mask of black velvet - and probably also during transport or when it would have been, by the guards or other inmates. A document name Eustache Dauger - although it is probably a nickname given to him.

And that's all. If there is a conspiracy, one of the best cover up history. But the fact is that if the genetic resourcesDining significance or meaning, why go to keep alive such complexes, but hidden?

This is not a story by Alexandre Dumas, who is pure fiction, Louis XIV does not exist (it's called the Sun King) was was a classic example of what is an absolute monarchy in Europe. During his reign, the growing power and influence of France in Europe, participating in three major wars: the Franco-Dutch League of Augsburg and the War of Spanish Succession, and two minor conflicts: War of Devolution, and the war of the meetings.

The political and military scene in France during his reign was filled with such illustrious names as Mazarin, Fouquet, Colbert, Michel Le Tellier, Le Tellier's son Louvois, Le Grand Condé, Turenne, Vauban, Villars and Tourville. Under his rule, France before reaching, not only political and military level, cultural dominance, but also with various cultural figures such as Molière, Racine, Boileau, La Fontaine, Lully, Le Brun, Rigaud, Louis Le Vau, Jules Hardouin-Mansart, Claude Perrault and Le Nôtre. The cultural achievements of these figures has contributed to the prestige of France, its people, its language and its king.

Louis XIV worked successfully to create a centralized state governed from the capital, to the fragmented feudalism which hitherto maintained momentum in France, leading to the modern state. Appeared as a result of their efforts, the absolutist, Louis XIV was the absolute monarch par excellence. The phrase "L'Etat, c'est moi" ( "I am the state") is often attributed to him, albeit as an inaccuracyhistorians

My goal is to rethink Louis has never been a man in an iron mask. There were several of these guys roaming Around (published also in reality), but my painting is once again that there is no mysterious "Man in the Iron Mask was. This is a case of pure fiction and a little artistic liscense of fiction based Dumas ( History has been a focus of her).
